Resume
Gap Year
Before graduating High Mowing in 2023, I spent thoughtful time considering college. However, since I would be paying for college myself, I was acutely aware of the cost and at the time it was out of reach. I also was unsure what area I would be most passionate to study. Because of this, I chose to wait until I could make a financial plan and had a better idea of what I would study.
At 17, I did know that I was interested in real estate investing and business. This led me to starting my landscaping business and obtaining my real estate agent license in 2024. Getting my real estate license was a good place to grow in investing, learn the practices of real estate and get hands-on learning experience. During those two years I learned volumes about the industry and from mentors. I plan to bring this experience with me into future careers. During this time I also started my own business:Lotus Landscaping. This began as a part-time venture and grew into a full-time business from 2023-2025.
While I gained valuable skills and knowledge during this time, I also realized that these are not career paths I want to follow long term. Now that I can better afford college, I would like to continue my education. I hope to study biology, focusing on research involving botany and zoology. Additionally, I am interested in architecture and I would like to take architecture and related art courses after learning about some of the best-and worst-choices in building while I was in real estate sales.
Bio
Throughout all my academic and current professional work, I am known for being dependable and reliable. I am accountable and don't need others to keep me on track with the task at hand. Most of my work has involved completing work with customers, so I have developed excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. All of these skills make me competent in many different jobs and work projects.
Work Experience
Internship
High Mowing School
May 2024 and 2025
Completed an internship with faculty member Will Minehart’s project block in 2024 and 2025. The project's blocks are two-week intensive studies which are centered on leading outdoor activities including teaching wilderness survival and exploring the ecosystems in alpine regions. In 2024 the location was in Olympic National Park, Washington State and 2025 it was in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. I helped plan and lead these two trips for 20 students each trip between the ages of 14-18 who came from every walk of life ranging from those who had never explored hiking before to those who shared a passion for learning more about the intricate and fragile balance of life above 4,000 feet.
